We had the opportunity to visit Joseph Sand recently to have a look at some beautiful pots from the first firing of his new kiln in Randleman, NC. We happened to arrive just in time to witness the ribbon cutting ceremony for his new pottery that was attended by the local chamber of commerce, mayor, two town aldermen, two county commissioners, the sheriff and the local newspaper. It was great to see public officials recognize Joseph's new pottery as a significant new business in the area and it was also nice to see them all purchasing pots! We were able to acquire several fantastic pieces from Joseph for the gallery and anyone who appreciates really fine wood fired pottery is encouraged to stop by and have a look.
