"Juice" is synonymous with inspriation. Noah makes pots from a product designer's perspective, but uses traditional production methods. According to Noah, "The beauty I'm after is spare and exists in economy of form and quality of material." With few restrictions on what he makes his goal is to create something unique, handmade, and creative using local materials and original ideas. He can be inspired by the simple and elegant lines and curves of a coffee bean as well as complex architectural forms. For each piece in this exhibition Noah will include an image of his inspiration for the piece.
All of Noah's pots are thrown and altered, Many of his pots are only glazed on the inside, the outside surfaces treated with raw glazes, slips, engobes and terra sigs. Noah collects and refines many of the raw materials for his pottery himself and highlights the qualities unique to them. Noah is currently a resident at Pottery Northwest in Seattle, WA.
