David Wilson
David Wilson grew up in Winnipeg Manitoba and has pursued glassblowing since he hitch-hiked into Celo, North Carolina in 1980. First apprenticing with William Burnstein, then other area glass artists, he set up a small studio of his own in 1985. After several classes at the Penland School of Crafts, he became interested in neon and studied under Jacob Fishman in Penland's first neon class in 1992. Since then David has worked to incorporate existing neon technology into the glassblowing realm. He currently works in his home studio and teaches workshops in experimental neon techniques.
