New Website Goes Live! Rob Pulleyn & Joe Singewald New Works
Dear Friends of the Crimson Laurel Gallery,
I just wanted to give an update on what's happening here at the gallery. The biggest news we have is regarding our new website. It still has the same familiar look and aesthetic of our old one just with a whole lot of new and more convenient features.

New website enhancements include the ability to put 100% of the gallery's great artwork online. The previous website could hold around 10% of the work on display at the gallery. So, that’s a huge change. That way all our artists can constantly see their inventory here and all our customers can view over 1,500 pieces of work on display at the gallery at any given time. It’ll take a bit to photograph all those images, measurements, information, etc. but we’re adding items every day.

Another epic improvement is how easy it is to ‘search’ for items. You can now look things up by artist, work, material, color, type, etc. just about any way you can imagine it – the site will search for it making it fast and easy to find what you’re looking for.

There are a whole lot of other options that make it convenient with news updates, artist bio’s, upcoming shows, recent work that arrived here, on and on. Take time to explore it at your leisure.

Otherwise, things are going really well. Silvia is taking and downloading images constantly and I get to set up exhibitions and oversee intake of new work in the gallery. We love it.

Upcoming shows for September:
On September 6th, Crimson Laurel Gallery will open “Current Work,” by ceramicist Rob Pulleyn and featured Artist Joe Singewald will show his functional and utilitarian line of ceramics - both are one month shows.

We also have an ongoing show titled Alternative Firing: with Maureen McGregor, Edge Barnes, and Conrad Weiser

I'll write more about these shows in the next post.

It's with a very heavy heart that I received a call a few days ago to inform us at the gallery that our co-worker and friend Gene Ayscue had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. We were all completely shocked and heartbroken.

Friends of the Crimson Laurel Gallery,

In our last update, we only gave you a few details about Andy Palmer, our new gallery director. He arrived in Bakersville a couple of weeks ago and is putting the finishing touches on the gallery for Thursday’s annual Spring opening. When we hired Andy, we got a nice surprise and a little more than we bargained for. More about that later.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Nicole Aquillano inside her studio in Boston, MA. We all admire her pieces at Crimson Laurel Gallery on a daily basis and it was such a privilege to chat with her in person & be walked through her process.
